CLASS Bar Awards: Code of Conduct
The CLASS Bar Awards is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for everyone involved, including guests, finalists, partners, bar teams, and staff. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected at the event to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all. By attending, you agree to uphold these principles and help foster an atmosphere that reflects the best of our community.
1. Treat Everyone with Respect
- Treat all attendees, organisers, and venue staff with courtesy and consideration.
- We welcome people from all backgrounds and identities. Discrimination, harassment, physical violence, or inappropriate behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Communicate professionally and respect personal boundaries.
- Contribute to an environment where everyone feels comfortable and valued.
2. Act with Professionalism
- Represent yourself, your organisation, and the wider hospitality industry with integrity.
- Follow any guidance or instructions from the organisers or venue.
- Respect all event spaces, mobile bars, awards materials, and property.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout the awards evening.
- All guests are expected to enjoy the occasion responsibly and drink in moderation, ensuring everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
- The use or possession of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in removal from the event.
- Any actions or behaviour that disrupt the event will not be permitted, including heckling, interrupting speakers, or protesting.
3. Prioritise Safety and Wellbeing
- If you feel unwell or notice someone who may need support, please contact a member of staff immediately.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and report any concerning or unsafe behaviour to event staff or security.
- Avoid any actions that could cause harm or discomfort to yourself or others.
- Guests must adhere to all venue and safety regulations, including smoking only in designated areas.
- Please take care of your personal belongings at all times. The organisers of the CLASS Bar Awards and the venue accept no responsibility for any lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
4. Network Responsibly
- Build connections in a genuine, respectful, and professional way.
- Avoid aggressive selling or inappropriate marketing.
- Respect privacy, only exchange contact information when invited to do so.
- Celebrate achievements and engage positively with your peers and colleagues.
5. Reporting Concerns
- If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination or behaviour that does not align with this Code of Conduct, please speak to an on-site CLASS Bar Awards organiser or a venue staff member as soon as possible on the evening.
- For reporting any concerns after the event, you can email confidentially to class@agilemedia.co.uk.
- All reports will be handled discreetly, respectfully, and with care.
6. Non-Compliance and Outcomes
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in action from the organisers, which could include:
- A formal warning
- Notifying venue security
- Removal from the Class Bar Awards event.
- Reporting behaviour to the police
- Exclusion from future CLASS Bar Awards or associated events
7. Support for Anyone Affected by Unacceptable Behaviour
In the unlikely event that a guest experiences unwanted or unacceptable behaviour at the CLASS Bar Awards, their safety and wellbeing will be treated as our top priority. This may include one or more of the following measures:
- Providing a safe and confidential space for the individual to talk and recover
- Offering immediate assistance, including access to medical or mental health support if required
- Follow-up contact from a designated CLASS Bar Awards representative to ensure wellbeing and support.
